Guidelines for completing protection order application forms

These guidelines are intended to provide assistance to those people completing an application for a protection order. The guidelines are part of a suite of documents and should be read together with the following pamphlets available online or from you local Family Court:

- Introduction to the Domestic Violence Act (Courts 001)
- Free Domestic Violence Support Programmes (Courts 009)
If you are intending to make an application for a protection order it is advisable to talk to a staff member at your local Family Court before completing the forms. You can find the contact details for your local Family Court here.
