INVITATION TO ATTEND
CRIME PREVENTION UNIT (MINISTRY OF JUSTICE)
Regional meeting (20th August 2008) in Christchurch
The Crime Prevention Unit (CPU) will be holding a regional meeting for our crime prevention partners in Zone 4 (the whole of the south Island) in Christchurch on the 20th August.
The CPU is inviting representatives from your Territorial Authority (TA) to attend this meeting and have attached a draft outline of the programme for day. We are happy to cover travel costs and one nights accommodation on the 19th August for two council representatives to attend the regional meeting.
There will be time to network, share information on crime prevention initiatives that are working well and challenges faced, and to explore options for ongoing support (including regional meetings and training) for TAs that work in partnership with the Crime Prevention Unit.
The CPU encourages your council to send two representatives working in different roles, ie ideally one who works operationally and another involved in relevant (crime and safety) policy and/or strategic development. This is likely to be most beneficial to your council.
We are looking forward to your support in ensuring that relevant staff from your council attend the Regional Meeting, and also to working together with our crime prevention partners.
For information regarding the regional forum please contact either Robyn Steel, 04 494 9757 or robyn.steel@justice.govt.nz; or Peti Keni 04 496 3357 or peti.keni@justice.govt.nz
Yours sincerely
