Write down as many words as you can that come to mind as a result of looking at the content and activities in Access to Justice. Sort these into categories of similarities and give each group a title. Create a CD (Concept of Definition) map of these words to show how you understand them in the context of justice.
Arrange a field trip to take your class to the High Court or District Court. You can do this by contacting your nearest court. The courts are listed under the Government Phone Listings at the front of the local telephone directory. There is also a full list of courts on the Ministry of Justice website at www.justice.govt.nz/contacts/courtaddresses.html. Please note that some courts do not sit daily, and some cases may be closed to the public or not suitable for students, so you will need to be flexible with your arrangements.
