Justice Sector Strategy
The Ministry is responsible for providing leadership of justice sector activities, and supporting justice sector Ministers and Chief Executives in making sector-wide decisions.
- Support to justice sector leaders includes:
- providing advice on sector-wide priorities
- the coordination of the sector’s budget process
- reporting on the sector’s performance towards their shared outcomes
- coordinating the development of tools for use across the sector to assist sector planning.
This work is undertaken by the Justice Sector Strategy Group within the Ministry, which co-ordinates a range of research, forecasting and modelling, information and governance support.
The Ministry also monitors four justice sector Crown Entities to ensure they perform effectively.
