Maori Legal Forum

Now in its eighth successful year, the 8th Maori Legal Forum has grown to include even more of the topics that are being debated all over New Zealand. Two packed days will examine the main legal issues emerging on settlements, the Tribunal, human rights and other legal debates.

The 8th Maori Legal Forum will cover:

  • Effective strategies to achieve meaningful outcomes
  • Review of Foreshore and Seabed Legislation
  • Examining the Aquaculture settlement of South Island iwi
  • Future of the Waitangi Tribunal
  • Bioprospecting developments in New Zealand
  • Maori fisheries and the Deed of Settlement
  • Examining life after settlement

With two ministerial addresses from Dr Pita Sharples and Hon. Tariana Turia, this event will feature presentations and panel discussions from some of Aoteoroa’s leading Maori Legal, Public Law and policy experts. Chaired by Tom Bennion, this is your perfect opportunity to discuss the big issues with our expert presenters and your peers.
