Media Releases22 November 2007 Working Together on youth offendingMedia are invited to attend Working Together, a conference on offending by young people sponsored by the Ministries of Justice, Social Development, Education, Health and the New Zealand Police:
Justice Minister Annette King will open the conference with an address at 0900 on 27 November. Media wishing to attend must RSVP to the conference organisers on (04) 568 4576 by Sunday 25 November. About the Working Together conference: Designed to strengthen practice by developing knowledge and partnerships throughout the sector, this conference provides an opportunity to bring together those who work tirelessly to improve outcomes for our young people and their whānau and will place an emphasis on establishing stronger links between government and non-government agencies. The conference will raise awareness and understanding of recent developments in research, policy, legislation and practice. It will provide delegates with an opportunity to discuss the major issues faced within the sector and explore new and creative ways of working with young offenders.
