Crime Prevention and Community Safety Programme Funding Priorities 2010-2013

Priorities for Crime Prevention and Community Safety

The Crime Prevention and Community Safety Programme six funding priorities for 2010 to 2013 are:

  • national crime prevention partnerships - partnering with national organisations, such as Neighbourhood Support New Zealand and Community Patrols New Zealand
  • community crime prevention partnerships - continued partnership with local authorities with a focus on increasing front line service delivery
  • safer community crime prevention initiatives - funding for innovative initiatives, emerging priorities and local crime prevention problems
  • response to alcohol issues - supporting local efforts to reduce alcohol related crime
  • response to sexual violence - funding for Sexual Violence Prevention Education and the Survivor Advocate position
  • local crime prevention for Māori communities - focusing on better outcomes for Māori as highlighted in the Drivers of Crime Ministerial Meeting.

The national crime prevention partnerships with Neighbourhood Support New Zealand and Community Patrols New Zealand include funding for a contestable funding round in 2011-2012. More information is available here.
