Conviction and sentencing 2000 to 2009
This bulletin provides an overview of the trends in prosecutions, convictions and sentencing in New Zealand from 2000 to 2009, and summarises core statistics for the 2009 calendar year. Data for prosecutions and convictions are reported as counts of the number of charges processed by courts in New Zealand. Information on sentences is reported as counts of offenders.
