Ministry of Justice: THE MINISTRY OF JUSTICE’S DATABASE OF NEW ZEALAND’S MULTILATERAL AGREEMENTS: Section 2 of Part II:

Section 2 of Part II: Current Status of Multilateral Agreements Deposited with the United Nations to which New Zealand is a Party

This section lists all of the multilateral agreements which New Zealand is party to deposited with the United Nations. It is organised as outlined in section 1 above. It provides the following information for each agreement:

Depository chapter number and category;
Agreement number, name, place and date;
An indication of when New Zealand became a party, and whether it has entered any reservations; and
An indication of whether the agreement is in force.

Aside from some exceptions in Part III, the database does not cover those multilateral agreements that are not deposited with the United Nations. It also does not cover any of the bilateral agreements to which New Zealand is a party. This database is also not a reproduction of the UN database. It does not include those UN deposited multilateral agreements to which New Zealand is not a party. However, for ease of reference and international compatibility, the treaties listed in Part II are referenced to the chapter headings and agreement number of the United Nations depository.

In addition, the database does not provide the text of the agreements it lists. However, the full text of most of the agreements it lists can be located on the World Wide Web via one of the World Wide Web sites listed in Part V.

The bracketed phrases "[see entry #]" found under the heading "Agreement Number, Name, Place, and Date" provide cross-references to related agreements. The bracketed phrases "[# replaces #]" found under the same heading indicate that a particular agreement replaces another particular agreement.

Number and Chapter Heading
