The Public Registers of licence holders and of certificate holders are now been published by the Licensing Authority in accordance with the Act.

They will be regularly updated.

These registers can be found on the Public Registers page.

Members of the public may copy or purchase all or any part of the information contained in the public registers at no more than a reasonable cost.

17 March 2005

Reminder to current holders of licences, that your current licence will become a transitional licence under the Act, come 1 April 2005.

There is no need to have your staff apply for certificates until you are re-licensed under the new Act, by 1 April 2006. When you re-licence, it is recommended that you apply for any certificates then.

16 March 2005

Approved application forms are now available for use on this site and for filing with the Licensing Authority from 1 April 2005.

28 February 2005

The Secondhand Dealers and Pawnbrokers Regulations 2005 have been passed and will take effect on 1 April 2005.

These regulations prescribe certain matters under the Secondhand Dealers and Pawnbrokers Act including:

  • application fees for licences and certificates
  • authentication of photographs
  • additional information required for licence and certificate applications

The new fees will be:

$350 for a licence for an individual

$350 for a company with one director

$350 for a company with more than one director and $150 for each additional director

$150 for a certificate

(All fees are GST inclusive)
