Student Allowance Appeal Authority

The Student Allowance Appeal Authority hears appeals against decisions of the Director-General of Education regarding tertiary grants and awards, and Ministry of Social Development decisions regarding student allowances.

The Student Allowance Appeal Authority hears appeals against Ministry of Social Development (MSD) decisions regarding student allowances.

If you have applied for, or are receiving, a tertiary allowance, award or grant and are unhappy with MSD's decision on your application, the first step is to apply to the Ministry for a statutory review.

If you disagree with MSD's review of the decision, you can then apply to have your case heard by the Student Allowance Appeal Authority.
