If you agree at Family Dispute Resolution mediation

If you reach agreement at Family Dispute Resolution, the mediator will set out what you have agreed in writing and give you each a copy.

This is a private agreement. If it works for everyone involved, you don’t need to do anything else.

The mediator will also give you each an Outcome of Family Dispute Resolution form which shows you completed Family Dispute Resolution and all matters were settled.

Getting a Consent Order

If you want to, you can get the Family Court to make your private agreement into a Consent Order. That means the agreement can be enforced by the court.
