Addiction treatment for someone else

If you’re concerned about a family member’s drinking or drug use and they don’t agree they have a problem, you can ask the Family Court to order them to undergo addiction treatment. This is called an Order for Detention and Treatment.

If you’re an alcoholic or drug addict, you can ask the court to keep you in a treatment centre by applying for Voluntary Detention.
