Applications for Crown engagement

The deadline for applications was 3 April 2017 and applications are currently being processed. Approximately 380 applications for Crown engagement were received.

If you're applying for resource consent, permit or approvals in the common marine and coastal area you need to notify and seek the views of any group that has applied for recognition of customary marine title in the area.

Details about the scope of each application, including a map, will be published on this site once these have been processed and confirmed with applicant groups.

Applications by regional council area

Applications for direct engagement with the Crown are published on separate pages according to regional council area. Each regional council area has a page. If an application falls into more than one jurisdiction it is listed on all relevant pages. Applications in the South Island are grouped together.

Please note: The majority of applications are still being processed and are yet to be listed. Details may also change. More information (including contact details and maps) will regularly be added as applications are processed and details confirmed.

What happens next?

More information (including contact details and maps) will regularly be added as applications are processed and details confirmed.

The sequence and timing for determination of Crown engagement applications is being developed and information about this will be published here in due course.

Under Crown engagement the general public will be able to object to or support any application as part of a public enquiry process seeking submissions. This process has not started.
