A submitter’s name, age, gender, and ethnicity may be collected in making a submission. This information is collected to enable the Ministry of Justice to better understand the demographic who have submitted this information.
In some instances, the Ministry may inadvertently collect other information included in your submission such as home address, email address or phone number. The Ministry will not use this information to inform the Legal Aid Review.
Submission information will be aggregated and analysed by approved Ministry of Justice employees and third-party service provider. Analysis of the submission will inform draft proposals about the legal aid system for the Government to consider.
Submissions will be stored securely by the Ministry and access will be restricted to the appropriate staff.
Once the submissions are no longer needed for the Legal Aid Review, submissions will be disposed securely and appropriately under the Public Records Act.
