A compensation payment has been made to Desmond Karl MARSHAL; David Joseph HIRSH; Allan Wirihana MARSHALL; Christopher John WATSON; Joseph ANTCLIFF; Desmond Kapi MARSHALL; Patrick Hohepa MARSHALL; Jason BENNETT in respect of a specified claim under the Prisoners’ and Victims’ Claims Act 2005 (the Act).

The Act requires that after the Secretary of Justice makes certain deductions from the compensation payment, the surplus remaining goes into the Victims’ Claims Trust Account to enable victims of Desmond Karl MARSHAL; David Joseph HIRSH; Allan Wirihana MARSHALL; Christopher John WATSON; Joseph ANTCLIFF; Desmond Kapi MARSHALL; Patrick Hohepa MARSHALL; Jason BENNETT to make claims against it.

Any money left after any victims’ claims have been paid will be paid to Desmond Karl MARSHAL; David Joseph HIRSH; Allan Wirihana MARSHALL; Christopher John WATSON; Joseph ANTCLIFF; Desmond Kapi MARSHALL; Patrick Hohepa MARSHALL; Jason BENNETT.

On 5 March 2024 $20,493.00 was paid into the Victims’ Claims Trust Account on behalf of Desmond Karl MARSHAL; David Joseph HIRSH; Allan Wirihana MARSHALL; Christopher John WATSON; Joseph ANTCLIFF; Desmond Kapi MARSHALL; Patrick Hohepa MARSHALL; Jason BENNETT.

The money paid into the Victims’ Claims Trust Account is held in trust for Desmond Karl MARSHAL; David Joseph HIRSH; Allan Wirihana MARSHALL; Christopher John WATSON; Joseph ANTCLIFF; Desmond Kapi MARSHALL; Patrick Hohepa MARSHALL; Jason BENNETT until it has been paid out in accordance with subpart 2 of Part 2 of the Act.
