The Ministry of Justice’s 2024/25 Annual Report [PDF, 5.2 MB], published today (20 October 2025), presents the Ministry’s progress against its strategic priorities, delivering court and justice services across New Zealand.
Secretary for Justice Andrew Kibblewhite says: “We support the operation of the independent courts, including the collection of fines and reparation. These functions underpin the nation’s economic and societal wellbeing. Those are the ends to which our strategic priorities direct us, and we remained firmly focused on them throughout the 2024/25 year, even while operating in a tight fiscal environment.
“I thank the Ministry’s staff who have continued to work together and across the sector with professionalism and dedication to achieve our goals. Every year brings new challenges and, as always, our people have risen to these challenges for the good of all New Zealanders.”
The report includes the Annual Report for The Office of Treaty Settlements and Takutai Moana – Te Tari Whakatau.
