This Regulatory Impact Statement (RIS) was prepared by the Ministry of Justice as part of the final policy development process for the Review of the Foreshore and Seabed Act 2004 (the 2004 Act). Cabinet has decided to repeal the 2004 Act and has made a number of general and specific policy decisions for a regime that will replace the 2004 Act. This RIS considers further proposals necessary for the completion of a draft bill to repeal and replace the 2004 Act.
