The District Court Act 2016 came into force on 1 March 2017 and established a single ‘District Court of New Zealand’. Under the Act, existing District Court locations and offices became ‘offices of the District Court of New Zealand’.
Offices of the District Court of New Zealand are formally established by publishing a notice in the New Zealand Gazette. You can find copies of gazette notices issued from the year 2000 onwards on the New Zealand Gazette website: New Zealand Gazette(external link)
