Enacting statement
In accordance with section 157 of the Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism Act 2009 (“Act”), the Associate Minister of Justice hereby gives notice that she has granted the following exemption from the Act:

This exemption will expire on 2028-06-30
Exemption
On 30 June 2023, the Associate Minister of Justice granted an exemption to Ngā Tāngata Microfinance Trust (NTMT) from the Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism Act 2009, on the terms and conditions set out in the New Zealand Gazette, 28 June 2023, Notice No. 2023-go2803 (“Ministerial Exemption”).
This notice reflects the following changes to NTMT’s captured services as identified in the original exemption:

- NTMT no longer provide the GetAhead loans.
- NTMT now offers low-value loans with a maximum value of $5,000 for GetControl loans.
Conditions
The terms, conditions and all other details of the exemption remain unchanged.
