If you‘re a victim of an offender named in a notice of payment into the Victims’ Claims Trust Account, you may be entitled to make a claim against the money awarded to the offender.

Notice of payment into Victims’ Claims Trust Account

This is the current list of offenders that have been awarded compensation - surnames A-E:

John Robert Bennett

A compensation payment has been made to John Robert Bennett in respect of a specified claim under the Prisoners’ and Victims’ Claims Act 2005 (the Act).

The Act requires that after the Secretary of Justice makes certain deductions from the compensation payment, the surplus remaining goes into the Victims’ Claims Trust Account to enable victims of John Robert Bennett to make claims against it.

Any money left after any victims’ claims have been paid will be paid to John Robert Bennett.

On 26 May 2022, $3,200.00 was paid into the Victims’ Claims Trust Account on behalf of John Robert Bennett.

The money paid into the Victims’ Claims Trust Account is held in trust for John Robert Bennett until it has been paid out in accordance with subpart 2 of Part 2 of the Act.

Any person who has been a victim of John Robert Bennett, in respect of an offence for which John Robert Bennett was convicted in a Court of New Zealand, is entitled to make a claim against the money held in the Trust Account on behalf of John Robert Bennett.

Claims by victims are not limited to the amount available in the Trust Account.

Scott Angus Davey

A compensation payment has been made to Scott Angus Davey in respect of a specified claim under the Prisoners’ and Victims’ Claims Act 2005 (the Act).

On 12 August 2022, $19,870.00 was paid into the Victims’ Claims Trust Account on behalf of Scott Angus Davey.

The money paid into the Victims’ Claims Trust Account is held in trust for Scott Angus Davey until it has been paid out in accordance with subpart 2 of Part 2 of the Act.

Any person who has been a victim of Scott Angus Davey, in respect of an offence for which Scott Angus Davey was convicted in a Court of New Zealand, is entitled to make a claim against the money held in the Trust Account on behalf of Scott Angus Davey.
