Notice of end of process for making and determining victims’ claims

Below is a list of offenders who have been awarded compensation and the funds have now been paid out:

 

George Christopher Pomee

Pursuant to subpart 2 of Part 2 of the Prisoners’ and Victims’ Claims Act 2005 (the Act), compensation awarded to George Christopher Pomee was paid to the Secretary for Justice and after making any deductions, the surplus remaining was paid into the Victims’ Claims Trust Account on 19 February 2024 on behalf of George Christopher Pomee to enable any victims of that offender to make claims against it.

From 4 March 2024, notice was given by publication in the New Zealand Gazette, on 29 February 2024 the website of the Ministry of Justice and on 2 March 2024 in the daily newspapers in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin of the sum of money paid into the Trust Account, and the entitlement of victims of the offender to claim against this money and the manner to do so.

The Secretary for Justice has now paid out all or the last of the money held in the Trust Account on behalf of George Christopher Pomee in accordance with Subpart 2 of Part 2 of the Act.
