Notice of end of process for making and determining victims’ claims

Below is a list of offenders who have been awarded compensation and the funds have now been paid out.

Notices will be removed after a period of 1 month.

Wayne John Clarke

TAKE NOTICE that, pursuant to subpart 2 of part 2 of the Prisoners’ and Victims’ Claims Act 2005 (“the Act”), on 28 May 2020 compensation awarded to Wayne Clarke (“the offender”) was paid to the Secretary for Justice and, after certain deductions (if any), the surplus was paid into the Victims’ Claims Trust Account on behalf of the offender to enable any victims of the offender to make claims against it.

AND THAT, on 13 June 2020, notice of the sum of money paid into the Trust Account and the entitlement of victims of the offender to claim against this money, was published in the daily newspapers in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin and, on 12 June 2020, was  published in the New Zealand Gazette and on the website of the Ministry of Justice.

The Secretary for Justice has now paid out all money held in the Trust Account on behalf of Wayne Clarke in accordance with subpart 2 of part 2 of the Act.

Sililoto Filimaea

TAKE NOTICE that, pursuant to subpart 2 of part 2 of the Prisoners’ and Victims’ Claims Act 2005 (“the Act”), on 21 May 2020 compensation awarded to Sililoto Filimaea (“the offender”) was paid to the Secretary for Justice and, after certain deductions (if any), the surplus was paid into the Victims’ Claims Trust Account on behalf of the offender to enable any victims of the offender to make claims against it.

AND THAT, on 6 June 2020, notice of the sum of money paid into the Trust Account and the entitlement of victims of the offender to claim against this money, was published in the daily newspapers in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin and, on 5 June 2020, was  published in the New Zealand Gazette and on the website of the Ministry of Justice.

The Secretary for Justice has now paid out all money held in the Trust Account on behalf of Sililoto Filimaea in accordance with subpart 2 of part 2 of the Act.

Siuaki Lisiate

TAKE NOTICE that, pursuant to part 2, (subpart2) of the Prisoners’ and Victims’ Claims Act 2005 (“the Act”), compensation awarded to Siuaki Lisiate was paid to the Secretary for Justice on 28 January 2020 and 25 June 2020, and the surpluses, were paid into the Victims’ Claims Trust Account on 4 February 2020 and 30 June 2020 on behalf of Siuaki Lisiate to enable any victims of that offender to make claims against it.

AND THAT on 18 July 2020, notice was given by publication in the daily newspapers in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin and on 17 July 2020 was published in the New Zealand Gazette and on the website of the Ministry of Justice, of the sum of money paid into the Trust Account, and the entitlement of victims of the offender to claim against this money and the manner to do so.

The Secretary for Justice has now paid out all money held in the Trust Account on behalf of Siuaki Lisiate in accordance with Subpart 2 of Part 2 of the Act.

Michael Manihera

AND THAT, on 11 July 2020, notice of the sum of money paid into the Trust Account and the entitlement of victims of the offender to claim against this money, was published in the daily newspapers in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin and, on 10 July 2020, was published in the New Zealand Gazette and on the website of the Ministry of Justice.

The Secretary for Justice has now paid out all money held in the Trust Account on behalf of Michael Manihera in accordance with subpart 2 of part 2 of the Act.

AND THAT, on 11 April 2019, notice of the sum of money paid into the Trust Account and the entitlement of victims of the offender to claim against this money, was published in the daily newspapers in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin and, on 20 April 2019, was  published in the New Zealand Gazette and on the website of the Ministry of Justice.

The Secretary for Justice has now paid out all money held in the Trust Account on behalf of James Cameron White in accordance with subpart 2 of part 2 of the Act.
