Notice of end of process for making and determining victims’ claims

Below is a list of offenders who have been awarded compensation and the funds have now been paid out.

Perry Ngawaka Bristow

TAKE NOTICE that, pursuant to part 2, (subpart2) of the Prisoners’ and Victims’ Claims Act 2005 (“the Act”), compensation awarded to Perry Ngawaka Bristow was paid to the Secretary for Justice on 8 February 2019, and the surplus, was paid into the Victims’ Claims Trust Account on 18 April 2019 on behalf of Perry Ngawaka Bristow to enable any victims of that offender to make claims against it.

AND THAT on 4 May 2019, notice was given by publication in the daily newspapers in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin and on 3 May 2019 on the website of the Ministry of Justice, of the sum of money paid into the Trust Account, and the entitlement of Victims of the offender to claim against this money and the manner to do so.

UNDER section 32(1)(b) of the Act, the Secretary for Justice has now paid out all of the money held in the Trust Account on behalf of Perry Ngawaka Bristow.

David Anaru

TAKE NOTICE that, pursuant to part 2, (subpart2) of the Prisoners’ and Victims’ Claims Act 2005 (“the Act”), compensation awarded to David Anaru was paid to the Secretary for Justice on 17 August 2018, and the surplus, was paid into the Victims’ Claims Trust Account on 22 January 2019 on behalf of David Anaru to enable any victims of that offender to make claims against it.

AND THAT on 2 February 2019, notice was given by publication in the daily newspapers in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin and on 1 February 2019 on the website of the Ministry of Justice, of the sum of money paid into the Trust Account, and the entitlement of Victims of the offender to claim against this money and the manner to do so.

UNDER section 32(1)(b) of the Act, the Secretary for Justice has now paid out all of the money held in the Trust Account on behalf of David Anaru.

David Soane

AND THAT on 1 September 2018, notice was given by publication in the daily newspapers in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin and on 31 August 2018 on the website of the Ministry of Justice, of the sum of money paid into the Trust Account, and the entitlement of Victims of the offender to claim against this money and the manner to do so.

UNDER section 32(1)(b) of the Act, the Secretary for Justice has now paid out all of the money held in the Trust Account on behalf of David Soane.

AND THAT on 20 April 2019, notice was given by publication in the daily newspapers in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin and on 19 April 2019 on the website of the Ministry of Justice, of the sum of money paid into the Trust Account, and the entitlement of Victims of the offender to claim against this money and the manner to do so.

UNDER section 32(1)(b) of the Act, the Secretary for Justice has now paid out all of the money held in the Trust Account on behalf of Quentin Abbott.

AND THAT on 18 August 2018, notice was given by publication in the daily newspapers in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin and on 17 August 2018 on the website of the Ministry of Justice, of the sum of money paid into the Trust Account, and the entitlement of Victims of the offender to claim against this money and the manner to do so.

UNDER section 32(1)(b) of the Act, the Secretary for Justice has now paid out all of the money held in the Trust Account on behalf of Daryl Hetet.
