Wellington District Court

Kia ora/Greetings,

 

All Jurors summoned for the week commencing Monday the 29th of April 2024, please attend the Jury Assembly Area on Level 3 of the Wellington District Court at 9.15am on Wednesday the 1st of May 2024 and sign in at the kiosk there. Entrance is on the ground floor where you will be subject to security screening before making your way up to level 3 (see "Security at Court" section below for things to be aware of during screening). Level 3 can be accessed by way of the lifts or stairwell.

 

TRAVELLING TO THE COURT

We encourage jurors to use public transport to get to the court, whenever possible. Street parking around the Court has a 2-hour time limit enforced by Wellington City Council parking services. The Court does not pay car parking fines incurred whilst on jury service.

Jurors arriving by car are asked to ensure they have paid for parking up until at least 1:30pm, in the event that they are chosen for a jury.

 

PARKING OPTIONS

All day paid parking is available:

  • In the Stout Street carparking building (beside the EziBuy store) which is adjacent to Wellington District Court
  • At Wellington Stadium which is a 10-15 minute walk to the Court building.

 

SECURITY AT COURT

Please note a search station will be operating. Please leave the following (& related) items at home:

  • Scissors
  • Metal forks & knives (including pocketknives)
  • Cutlery
  • Knitting needles
  • Screwdrivers or other tools
  • Other sharp objects.

Any laptops, cellphones, other electronic devices, or keys will need to taken out of your bag and put into the security trays for screening, so please have those ready before you get to the front.
